Where We Use AI

GlowPicked uses AI tools (large language models) to help research products and draft content at scale. Specifically, AI assists with:

  • Summarizing ingredient lists and their commonly cited benefits and risks.
  • Detecting patterns across thousands of real customer reviews (what people consistently praise or complain about).
  • Drafting the written analysis you read on each product and ingredient page.
  • Computing the component sub-scores that feed the GlowScore.

What AI does not do: we do not physically test, buy, or handle products, and we do not present AI output as medical, dermatological, or safety advice. AI-generated content can contain mistakes. Always read the ingredient list on the actual product and consult a qualified professional for skin concerns before purchasing.

How the GlowScore Is Calculated

Every product is ranked by its GlowScore — a composite rating out of 100 built from four weighted criteria:

  • Ingredient quality — the presence, concentration, and formulation of well-researched active ingredients.
  • Customer satisfaction — aggregated sentiment and ratings from real, publicly posted customer reviews.
  • Safety — the presence or absence of commonly flagged irritants, allergens, and controversial ingredients.
  • Value (budget picks) or formulation innovation (premium picks) — price-to-quality ratio, or how differentiated the formulation is.

The GlowScore is an editorial rating of a product. It is not an automated decision that produces a legal or similarly significant effect about you as an individual — we do not profile visitors or make automated decisions about people. If our methodology ever changes in a way that affects how products are ranked, we update this page.
